Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Very nice thermostat and simple to install. ...
There was a very simple digital thermostat with no programming features in my townhome when I purchased it. I wanted something that would turn on the heat in the morning before I woke. After reading the reviews on this and other units here at Amazon, I decided on this thermostat. Installation was fast and simple. Programming was even simpler. There's a built-in Energy Star compliant program but I chose to customize. It was a snap. In just a few minutes it was running. It has a large and attractive touchscreen, a 15-second backlight for use in the dark, and an streamlined case that will fit in nicely in almost any home. The Amazon price is much lower than retail stores. I highly recommend this unit to do-it-yourselfers of any skill level.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Programmable Thermostat is pretty cool ...
I have been using the Lux TX9000TS thermostat for a few weeks now. It was easy to install and easy to program. I wish I could program the fan setting as well as the temperature, though It has many features that I like - like being able to calibrate the temperature and adjust the swing value before the heating or cooling kicks in. In all, a good product at a good price.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Really Pleased ...
I checked Comsumer Reports before purchasing and this was the number one rated thermostat. I can see why. Installation was a breeze. (I'm an older and not mechanically inclined, female) Programming is straight forward...very easy to understand.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Very Satisfied ...
When oil prices shot through the roof I decided now was the time to buy a programable thermostat. I began looking for a programmable digital thermostat and had done quite a bit of research and read a lot of reviews. Actually between Consumers Reports and the reviews here on Amazon are what convinced me to buy the Lux TX9000TS as the unit I wanted to try. Because of our family work schedules I knew I wanted a 7 day programmable thermostat. After receiving the unit I read the manual, installed the batteries, and programmed the thermostat. Before installing it I placed it next to a digital thermometer I have to monitor temps in my living room and adjusted the offset to match my room digital thermometer. I found that following the directions for installation was not hard at all. Two things I do not like was the small print in the manual, and the little tabs used to hook the unit to the wall mounting plate. Other than that I like the unit well enough that I am now buying my second one for my first floor.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * WONDERFULL THERMOSTAT ...
THE LUX TX9000TS WAS JUST AS ADVERTISED.VERY SIMPLE TO INSTALL.AFTER REMOVING THE OLD THERMOSTAT,IT TOOK ABOUT 15 MINUTES TO INSTALL.IT BEGAN WORKING WITHOUT A GLITCH.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.

On their debut album, 1999's Something About Airplanes, Death Cab for Cutie proved there's a reason why Northwest music critics continue to sing their praises. The foursome combined the emo sounds of Modest Mouse and 764-Hero with an inventive, and often sly, sentimentality. It worked wonders, but still sounded a little too lo-fi. Luckily, on We Have the Facts and We're Voting Yes the group has figured out all the production nuances that flawed that auspicious debut. The opening "Title Track" begins by sounding both crappy and shallow, but the band is merely pulling your leg; two minutes later, the tune expands into a gorgeous, well-produced masterpiece. The album never looks back. Ben Gibbard's songwriting continues to evolve--"Company Calls" segues into, what else, the slower "Company Calls Epilogue"--while the simple lyrics of "For What Reason" and "405" tell infectious stories that demand repeated listenings. Proof positive the Northwest is still churning out great music. --Jason Verlinde

The first Black Box Recorder album, 1998's England Made Me, was originally conceived by Auteurs and Baader Meinhof frontman Luke Haines as a typically baleful response to the cultural and political hysteria--respectively, Britpop and Tony Blair--then gripping Britain. Recorded with the help of former Jesus & Mary Chain drummer John Moore and singer Sarah Nixey, it did for Britpop roughly what the film Carrie did for the senior prom. The Facts of Life, the follow-up, maintains the withering glare but fixes it this time on the personal. The songs here obsess with unnerving clarity and mordant wit on the banal, cruel details of human relationships and are narrated perfectly by Nixey. Where her perfectly English-accented whisper infused England Made Me with the air of a bored aristocrat finding contemptuous amusement in the misery of others, on The Facts of Life she has located an edge of taunting viciousness all the more diabolical for being so understated. The tunes, as ever, are sweet and insidious, perhaps best thought of as Saint Etienne turned feral. Highlights on an album full of them are "English Motorway" and "The Art of Driving"--BBR triumphantly reclaiming the American rock & roll prerogative of the road song for their damp, claustrophobic homeland. The Facts of Life is a masterpiece. --Andrew Mueller
